A Domained Value Element (secLoc) indicating the Presence and Location(s) of a Rumble Strip, on the Primary Direction of Traffic.
:
Indicates the presence of rumble strips along a highway section. Rumble strips are lateral cuts into the Asphalt or Concrete surface that cause most vehicles to vibrate as they are crossed and are typically located on the inside and/or outside shoulders near the traveled lanes. Rumble strips should be detailed in existing roadway segments whenever they are continuous over at least 50-percent of the roadway segment. Segment breaks specifically for rumble strips should be limited to locations where they represent a significant change to the roadway characteristics, or where they cannot be adequately described in terms of existing roadway segments.
