Traffic Data Explorer Help
The Traffic Data Explorer provides detailed traffic volume information on highways throughout Colorado. To see traffic count data, one or more traffic stations must be selected.
Selecting traffic stations
Highway segments can be selected in the following wayss:
- By city or county
- By highway segment
- By traffic station
Selecting by city or county
To select by city or county, , click the 'Search by city/ county' accordion pane to the right of the map. Then select a city or county by selecting it from the appropriate dropdown or by clicking the pencil icon next to the dropdown and clicking the desired area on the map.
Selecting by highway segment
To select highway segments by route and reference points, click the 'Search by highway segment' accordion pane to the right of the map. Then select the route by selecting it from the route number dropdown, by clicking the pencil icon next to the dropdown and clicking the route on the map, or by clicking the find by name button and selecting the route by its local name from the dialog box. Next, select the begin and end reference points by typing them into the textboxes or by clicking the pencil icon next to the textboxes and then clicking the location on the map.
Selecting by traffic station
To select highway segments by traffic station, click the 'Search by traffic station' accordion pane to the right of the map. Then type in the station id and hit enter or click the pencil icon and click the traffic station on the map.
Viewing traffic volume data
When one or more traffic stations have been selected. Information about the selected stations will be displayed below the map. Clicking the various tabs will display different information about the selected stations.
To view traffic volume data for a particular station, click the magnifying glass icon in front of that station row. Daily and monthly (if available) traffic count information can then be viewed below the list of stations. The data can also be exported to an Excel-compatible csv file.
